What is MOPS?

MOPS stands for Mothers of Preschoolers and is an international organization that exists to encourage, equip, and help women become the best moms that they can be! Women who are pregnant or have young children (newborn through Kindergarten) are all invited to join MOPS!

MOPS is caring through:

  • A program designed for all mothers of preschoolers (conception through Kindergarten) and is coordinated by the mothers themselves.
  • An open, caring atmosphere where specific needs of today's preschool mothers are met.
MOPS is sharing in:
  • Small discussion groups where women interact, encourage and learn from one another.
  • A comfortable setting for social and spiritual enrichment for mother and child(ren).
  • The enjoyment of completing a craft with the opportunity for creative expression, a sense of accomplishment and deepening friendships.

MOPS is preparing through:

  • Building a sense of identity and personal worth.
  • Instruction relating to womanhood, childrearing, marriage and building a home based on biblical principles.
  • Social and creative opportunities for the preschool child

What Happens at MOPS?

At our MOPS group, you will the chance to enjoy breakfast and socialize with other moms, participate in creative activities, hear from some great speakers, discuss important topics in mothering, ...and even enjoy a cup of coffee while it’s still hot!

When & Where Do We Meet?

MOPS meets on the 2nd and 4th Tuesday morning of the month from 9:00 am-11:00 am, from October to May. We meet at Spokane Valley Nazarene Church, which is located at 15515 E. 20th Ave.. The church phone number is (509) 926-1545.

Is childcare provided at MOPS?

We have a wonderful program for children called MOPPETS!

About Newborns: Babies may attend the MOPS meeting with their mothers. We also have a nursery from Newborns (0-9 months) and Walkers (9 or 12 months +). About MOPPETS: MOPPETS provides quality infant and toddler care. Those under one year of age are cared for in a loving nursery setting. Older children are divided into age groups which allows each child to interact with children of similar levels. Their classrooms are filled with stories, games, songs, crafts, projects, playtime and a healthy snack. About Our MOPPETS Caregivers: We have a wonderful team of caregivers who serve in our MOPPETS classrooms. They are all highly competent volunteers who have experience with little ones (former teachers, nurses, grandparents, etc.). They are all screened by our MOPPETS Coordinator and receive training to be the best caregivers that they can be.
